Liverpool are one of several Premier League clubs reportedly interested in Salomon Kalou after he left Chelsea on a free transfer.
Kalou exited Stamford Bridge at the end of his contract, despite starting in both the Champions League and FA Cup finals last season under boss Roberto Di Matteo.
His agent Rodger Lindse confirmed last month that an Anfield switch would be an appealing prospect to the Ivory Coast international - however, Lindse stressed there were no "concrete" developments.
Newcastle United, Arsenal and Tottenham have also been linked with a move for Kalou, so he is unlikely to be short of options across the coming weeks.
Kalou, 26, joined the Blues in 2006 following three successful years with Feyenoord in the Eredivisie. He won one Premier League, four FA Cups, the League Cup and the Champions League while at Chelsea.
He scored 60 goals in all for the club, most of which came from a wide position in the front line.
