Palermo midfielder Josip Ilicic is attracting the attention of an English club other than Liverpool, according to his agent.
The Slovenian midfielder only joined Palermo from Maribor at the end of August, along with compatriot Armin Bacinovic.
Ilicic has made an impressive start to life in Italy and, at the age of 22, is expected to go from strength to strength over the next few years.
His performances have not gone unnoticed and Liverpool were reportedly interested in trying to secure his services.
Ilicic's representative Amir Ruznic has dismissed the reports concerning the Reds, but claims to have been approached by another English club.
However, Ilicic would not be allowed to make another transfer this season, while Ruznic doubts whether Palermo will let such an exciting prospect leave next summer.
"The interest of Liverpool? I can confirm that I was contacted by a major English club that is not Liverpool," the agent told totalsport.it.
"But a transfer in the next market is impossible: the boy cannot move in January because in this season he has already played for two different clubs.
"He is happy at Palermo and has the faith of the coach and the president, while the fans love him as well.
"In June? For me, he is worth as much as Javier Pastore and (Palermo owner Maurizio) Zamparini is not a fool, so I think that Ilicic will stay at Palermo for a long time."
