Daniel Sturridge will feature for England against Germany tomorrow night after shaking off a thigh injury.
The Liverpool striker, currently joint-top scorer in the Premier League, missed Friday's defeat to Chile with the problem, but has declared himself fit to play on Tuesday, as Roy Hodgson's men look to end their year on a positive note against an in-form German side.
Sturridge will earn his ninth international cap at Wembley, and will be looking to convince Hodgson he is the man to lead the line for his country at next summer's World Cup in Brazil.
"I've had a lot of treatment over the last few days and been working very hard to make sure I'm OK," said the 24-year-old. "I'm ready to go for the game.
"But it is not a problem for me, I'm delighted that the pain is not as bad and I'm looking forward to the game.
"For every individual to play against a country that plays great football, they've got world-class players, it's going to be a great occasion for the fans and the players to enjoy.
"There are two games now before the manager selects his (World Cup) squad and it's important that everybody stakes their claim, that nobody's taking it for granted.
"It's important to just play well at your club and that when the opportunities come to play for England, you take them and try to stake your claim to go to the World Cup.
"God willing I will remain fit and then I'm sure the opportunities will be there and I'll be able to take them."
Steven Gerrard is also expected to play some part against Germany. The Liverpool and England skipper missed out against Chile due to a minor hip problem, but trained as normal on Monday, and is in line to win his 108th cap.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers will be hoping both players, as well as team-mates Glen Johnson and Jordan Henderson, emerge unscathed ahead of Saturday's Merseyside derby clash with Everton at Goodison Park.
