Liverpool FC transfer speculation today sees Brendan Rodgers reportedly considering a move for Saul Niguez.
Liverpool scouts watched Saul Niguez play for Rayo Vallecano against parent club Atletico on Sunday night.
The 19-year-old midfielder played in an unfamiliar centre-back role and endured a torrid evening as he was booked and scored an own goal in a 4-2 defeat.
Liverpool are also reportedly interested in signing Andre Gomes, the Portugal U21 international.
The Benfica midfielder is known for his precise use of the ball and is regarded by Brendan Rodgers as well suited to Liverpool's possession-oriented game.
Gomes' opportunities at Benfica were limited by Nemanja Matic's excellence in the holding role, but his value to the club has increased since Matic's move to Chelsea earlier this month.
Benfica want £12.4m for Gomes, 20.
Liverpool's reported long-term target, Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa is said to have reached an agreement with Chelsea.
Chelsea are said to have reached a 'verbal agreement' over the purchase of that will see them beat Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United to the player in the summer.
