Liverpool FC transfer target Martin Montoya says he is relaxed about his future despite being yet to agree a new contract with current club Barcelona.
The ECHO revealed back in November that Montoya was on Brendan Rodgers ' January radar, with Reds managing director Ian Ayre travelling to Spain to open initial talks with the player's representatives.
The 22-year-old full back's current deal with Barcelona expires at the end of this season, but Montoya insists he is in no rush to thrash out a new one.
He has made 13 appearances for the La Liga champions this season, and played the full 90 minutes as they beat Elche last weekend. Long term, though, he is behind the likes of Dani Alves, Jordi Alba and Adriano in the pecking order at Camp Nou.
Montoya said: "There is no hurry for me to sign a new deal.
"Now I am at the best club in the world and I learn each day from Dani Alves.
"I believe that the negotiations are on the way but without pressure."
Dundee United youngster Andrew Robertson has been scouted by the Reds in recent weeks, but they are unlikely to table a formal offer for the 19-year-old, who is attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs, including Everton.
