Andre Villas-Boas says he will return to England only for "the right project", as Liverpool prepare to press ahead with their interview process by speaking to the former Chelsea manager this week about succeeding Kenny Dalglish.
Villas-Boas is one of the names on the Anfield short list, along with Roberto Martinez of Wigan.
But he remains bruised by his short-lived spell at Chelsea, and wants to analyse the terms of any job before agreeing to step back into the spotlight.
Villas-Boas, who attended yesterday's Portuguese Cup final between Academica and Sporting Lisbon, is also wanted by Serie A side AS Roma.
He said: "I am still choosing the right project and that decision will take the necessary time."
