Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is said to be tracking Belenenses midfielder Fabio Sturgeon ahead of a potential move in January.
Rodgers has had the 20-year-old Portuguese ace watched on a number of occasions this season and is ready to meet the valuation of £2.4m but the Reds are not alone as Benfica have also been linked with a move for the attacking midfielder.
The Portugal U20 international has an English father and would apparently prefer a move to England to play in the Premier League rather than switching to Portuguese giants Benfica.
