Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are all keeping tabs on the progress of Mainz striker Shinji Okazaki, report the Express, after the Japanese international roared to the top of the Bundesliga goalscoring charts at the start of this season, helping his unfancied club to a fine start to the campaign.
Okazaki has already notched five goals in six Bundesliga appearances for Mainz so far this season, with another three in the Europa League and DFB Pokal, making the Japanese star one of the most in-form strikers in European football right now.
The 28 year-old has been sensation for Mainz since being lured to the club last summer by former boss Thomas Tuchel, who resigned this summer, despite having previously had a less than convincing spell in the German top flight with Stuttgart after signing from J-League team Shimizu S-Pulse.
He was a part of the Japanese squad that traveled to this summer's FIFA World Cup and has continued his form into this campaign, catching the eye of scouts across the continent - including from this illustrious Premier League trio.
