Liverpool will have to pay £9million to sign target Charlie Adam from relegated Blackpool.
Kenny Dalglish has been told the price on Scotland midfielder Adam's head - and it is more than the Kop offered for him in the January transfer window.
The Scot is keen on Adam, but the club's owners may be reluctant to meet Blackpool's valuation - despite their manager's desire to have the skillful star in his side.
Adam, who is in the last year of his contract, wants to go to Merseyside but may be facing another anxiety-filled transfer window and may be left at the seaside.
Blackpool will have to carve up Adam's fee with several parties, which is why such a high price is being asked.
The Tangerines have been unable to spark an auction for Adam's services as he wants to go to Liverpool more than any other Premier League side, but their insistence on a high fee may yet kill off any deal.
