AC Milan and Fiorentina are still chasing the signature of Alberto Aquilani ahead of the close of the transfer window this month.
The Italian midfielder was poised to join Juventus earlier this summer after enjoying a successful loan spell with the Turin giants last season, but that deal feel through.
Aquilani has been involved in the Liverpool squad during pre-season and the 27-year-old got another run-out as a substitute in Monday's 3-3 draw with Valerenga.
A move back to Serie A could yet happen, though, with Milan now indicating that they are interested in buying the former Roma man.
Vice president Adriano Galliani told Gazzetta Dello Sport: "He's a midfielder who has the characteristics we're looking for so he could be of interest."
The player's agent has also stated that a move to Florence still also remains a possibility, although Milan now look to be leading the chase for a potential deal.
