Liverpool finally look set to land Charlie Adam after offering Blackpool £8million plus two players.
The Reds kept a close eye on Adam for most of last season but were put off by Blackpool's £12m valuation.
Manchester United and Tottenham have also shown interest in the Seasiders captain, who has 12 months left on his deal at Bloomfield Road and could leave for free this time next year.
Anfield director of football Damien Comolli held talks with Blackpool over the weekend and has offered teenage midfielder Jonjo Shelvey on a season-long loan and young defender Stephen Darby.
Shelvey, 19, arrived on Merseyside from Charlton last summer and played 21 times in his debut season.
Local lad Darby, 22, has made a handful of appearances for the first team and has enjoyed loan spells at Swindon and Notts County.
Scotland international Adam will be Kenny Dalglish's second signing of the summer after Jordan Henderson's arrival from Sunderland.
