Promising Liverpool youngster John Welsh has admitted he would consider a loan move away from Anfield in order to get some valuable first team experience under his belt.
The highly-rated 19-year old midfielder, a graduate of the Academy who made his senior debut in the Worthington Cup tie against Ipswich in December, is aware that first team opportunities will be limited this season but insists he sees his long-term future with the Reds.
In an exlusive interview with Liverpoolfc.tv he says: "After making my debut last season my aim is to now get some more first team experience, whether that be here or on loan somewhere else.
"I know that there are a lot of good players at this club and I've got to bide my time. It's a squad game and there are a lot of players ahead of me but hopefully the boss will me a chance."
Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier clearly rates Welsh and earlier this summer pledged that the youngster will play between 10 anfd 15 games this campaign.
"To hear the manager say that is a huge confidence booster for me but I don't think it would do me any harm to go out on loan. The experience would do me good. My main focus is to carve out a career for myself here at Liverpool and I'll do anything to help me achieve that goal."
