Welsh helps England triumph

Liverpool youngster John Welsh last night helped England's youngsters secure a 2-0 victory against France in the UEFA under-19 Championships in Liechtenstein.

Welsh produced his typical tigerish midfield performance to help England cruise to a much needed victory following their opening match defeat to Austria.

England scored a goal in each half and now look forward to their next match against the Czech Republic when they know a victory will take them into the semi-finals of the competition.
