David Ngog insists Blackpool will be facing a very different Liverpool side on Boxing Day to the one they beat unexpectedly at Anfield back in October.
Things had started badly for Roy Hodgson's side when Fernando Torres limped out of the action after just 10 minutes and Ian Holloway's outfit went on to record a famous victory in front of the Kop.
However, when the two sides are scheduled to meet on Boxing Day, the French U21 international claims the Tangerines will face a wounded animal with the Reds determined to get the three points.
"That defeat was a bad result, especially with it being at home and we want to prove we can do better and win this game," Ngog told Liverpoolfc.tv.
"The team wasn't so confident and we didn't play very well but I think we are a different team now to that game. We are a lot better and more confident and we hope we can show that on Boxing Day.
"Blackpool have done really well this season. They have played some good football and they have shown they can surprise any team on their day.
"They are a tough team and but if we play well then I'm sure we can beat them.
"I enjoy the Boxing Day game. It's good for the families to get the chance to go with their kids and watch a match together and there is always a great atmosphere."
Liverpool's form on the road has been indifferent to say the least recording only two victories away from Anfield in the top-flight so far during 2010, and Ngog claims the team must improve this if they are to put pressure on the top-four between now and the end of the season.
"We know we must improve our away form and hopefully we can do this starting with a win at Blackpool," he added.
"At Anfield we get a lot more possession and we can dominate teams and away it is more difficult, but if we want to be at the top of the league then we have got to start winning away."
Preparations for the festive games have been far from ideal with the whole of Britain the victim of the big freeze, but Ngog revealed the inclement weather has been good for team spirit.
"It was a little frustrating our game with Fulham was called off, but we have had some fun and had a few snowball fights which is always good for team spirit."
Liverpool's No.24 also spoke about his plans for the festive period this year and having to train on Christmas Day.
He added: "My family is coming over this year from France so I'm really looking forward to sharing a traditional meal with them.
"We have to train on Christmas Day morning but I don't mind that. In France it was always classed as a holiday but I am playing for a great club in Liverpool and that's part of the tradition in England."
