Rafael Benitez has called on his Liverpool players to kick-off the most 'crucial phase' of their season with a victory over Everton in Saturday's 213th Merseyside derby.
The Reds will also face Arsenal and Manchester City in the Barclays Premier League in February, with the boss admitting the next few weeks could be key in deciding the outcome of the campaign.
"We want to make sure we get back into the top four and this is the first opportunity to try and do that," said Benitez.
"Our aim is to keep the players playing with more confidence. After Everton, we have Arsenal and that will be another big challenge. But it will be much easier if we have got the right result against Everton and another three points.
"I've spoken with the players and we have been analysing what we have (in terms of games) until the end of the season and this is the most crucial phase.
"To get a win against Everton and to see the team continue their unbeaten run would give everyone big hope for the rest of the season."
Everton arrive at Anfield unbeaten in the Barclays Premier League since Liverpool's 2-0 win at Goodison Park in November, while the Reds can boast a six-match undefeated streak.
Benitez acknowledges David Moyes' side will present a tough challenge for his charges, but the Spaniard is eager to ensure it is Kopites - rather than Toffees - relishing Monday morning's workplace banter.
"It is always special for everyone here in the city and both teams are coming into the game on the back of good runs," he said.
"When you play against your nearest rival, it is always important you win but it is all the more vital, as we are in a position where we cannot lose points.
"But you have to remember that Everton want to be challenging for a European place too; it will be a very exciting game and it is massive for everyone involved.
"The derby is special because, when you have a week like this it is all everyone talks about. We need to make sure we are talking about it in the week after, too."
