Scott Parker expects a Liverpool backlash when he and his Tottenham teammates travel to Anfield tonight for a mouth-watering Premier League clash.
Despite Kenny Dalglish's side being in fine form of late, the English midfielder insists that the Reds will be desperate to banish memories of a 4-0 loss earlier this season at White Hart Lane.
Goals from Luca Modric, Jermaine Defoe and two from Emmanuel Adebayor sunk a nine-man Liverpool back in late September as Charlie Adam and then Martin Skrtel were dismissed.
"I'm sure they will want to make amends for earlier in the season," said Parker.
"We were on fire in that game, played some great stuff and it was hard for Liverpool to live with us. It was my first home game and I came out of it thinking 'we've got some team here'. I knew we had a very good team but that really stood out for me."
However, Parker knows just how tough getting a win at Anfield can be. Spurs have managed a single victory in their last 17 attempts and that came last season when Modric inspired Harry Redknapp's side to a 2-0 win.
That was the last time Liverpool lost at home.
Furthermore the Reds are the only side except Manchester City to boast an unbeaten home record this season and statistically they have the second strongest defence in the country, conceding just two more goals than the league leaders.
Parker said: "It's always a big game at Anfield, they've had some great results and it will be tough. They have quality all over the pitch, all in good form, so we know it will be difficult."
A win for Spurs would see them go three points behind Manchester United and would take Redknapp's men nine clear of their London rivals Chelsea. Liverpool meanwhile can close the gap on André Villas Boas's side to two points with a win at Anfield tonight.
