A goal fest to end the 1992-93 season comes in at No.11 in LFC's 100 Most Exciting PL Games.

LFC's Most Exciting PL Games No.11: May 8, 1993. Liverpool 6-2 Tottenham Hotspur.

Liverpool ended a frustrating season in fine style with a 6-2 thrashing of Spurs at Anfield.

With Graeme Souness missing the match, speculation was at fever pitch with talk of a change of manager. It later transpired he was watching Peter Ndlovu in action for Coventry City.

Despite the absence of the boss, the Reds, led by Ian Rush, played some fantastic football. Rush opened the scoring and with the goal came a personal milestone - his 300th in a red shirt in all competitions.

John Barnes made it 2-0 before Teddy Sheringham pulled one back.

Stuart Nethercott then deflected a Steve Harkness effort past Ian Walker before Steve Sedgley made it 3-2 to set up a potentially frantic last 12 minutes.

However, the Reds were in the mood to end the campaign with goals and Barnes, Rush and a Mark Walters penalty made it 6-2.

Then in stoppage time, forever the showman, Bruce Grobbelaar had the final word when he saved a Sheringham penalty.
