Injury concerns for Wenger

Arsene Wenger will be without Johan Djourou (hamstring), Nicklas Bendtner (groin) and Aaron Ramsey (leg) at Anfield on Sunday - while several other Arsenal stars are struggling for fitness.

Midfielder Alex Song (calf) is almost certain to miss out on the season opener, and Denilson (abdominal) and Abou Diaby (calf) face late tests.

Meanwhile, Robin van Persie and Cesc Fabregas lack match fitness after a long World Cup campaign and could start from the bench.
