While May 25 is remembered by many as the anniversary of the miracle of Istanbul, it is also a date that marks Liverpool's first ever European Cup triumph.
Thirty-seven years ago today, on May 25, 1977, Bob Paisley guided the Reds to an historic triumph.
With inspirational leader Emlyn Hughes at the back and Kevin Keegan in attack, Liverpool beat German outfit Borussia Moenchengladbach 3-1 to seal a magnificent victory in the Olympic Stadium in Rome.
Scouser Terry McDermott fired the Reds in to a 27th minute lead, and although Danish star Allan Simonsen levelled with a magnificent shot, Paisley's men were not to be denied.
Another Scouser and the Anfield Iron Tommy Smith, then produced an amazing header when he met a corner to make it 2-1, and victory was sealed from the penalty spot.
Keegan was brought down in the box and the dependable Phil Neal slotted home to make it 3-1 and give the Reds the cup.
