This was one of Gerrard's first real beauties and one that made Kopites and neutrals alike sit up and take notice. The youngster picked the ball up just inside the opposition half, surged forward and unleashed a pearler, which rocketed 45 yards, bounced down off the underside of the bar and into the Kop net.
