It has been a disappointing week but Liverpool can get back on track with a win over Portsmouth on Monday night.
The odds against a win are 1.28 (just less than 30/100), a measure of Portsmouth's poor season and Liverpool's strong home record. We can boost those odds though by looking at the Asian Handicap market and taking odds of 1.88 (5/6) for Liverpool to win by two goals or more.
The Reds home form has been very solid, winning the last six Barclays Premier League home games and always getting the job done against sides in the bottom half of the table. We have seven wins out of seven against struggling sides at Anfield, and in five of those we have won by two or more. In those seven encounters we have scored 22 and conceded only three, so Portsmouth will not be relishing the visit.
Those who like bigger odds could look at a 3-0 scoreline at odds of 8.0 (7/1) or 4-0 at 13.0 (12/1).
We will be back next Tuesday with a preview of the home leg against Lille and then again next Friday where we will take a look at the trip to Old Trafford for which the early betting has Liverpool down at odds of 3.80 (a little over 11/4) to complete the double over Man United.

188BET is the official betting partner of Liverpool FC. We offer a full range of pre-match bets but it is In Play where 188BET really comes to life. We are In Play specialists, providing betting over the full 90 minutes of more than 3,000 football games every month.
In Play adds a whole new level of excitement to watching a game. The odds are updated in real time and produce great opportunities if you can strike at the right moment. When Liverpool beat Man United in October the opening odds on a Liverpool victory were 2.50 (6/4). After one hour these had drifted as big as 3.95 (nearly 3/1) before we went on to score twice and win the game.
