Les Bruton came into his own at Blackburn after a slow start to his career and scored 23 goals in 38 league apperances for Rovers in the First Division.

However, Bruton made only a single league appearance for Liverpool during the 1931-32 season.

His debut came away to West Ham on February 20, 1932. He also played in the Anfield FA Cup defeat by Chelsea a week later.

Bruton made six more league appearances the following season plus another in the FA Cup, with his only goal for the club coming at Chelsea on December 27, 1932.
