A two-footed elegant player who played either at right or left-back.
London-born Frank Lock had played over 200 times for Charlton Athletic when he signed for Liverpool. It was an attempt to bolster an increasingly fragile defence as the club headed towards relegation to the Second Division.
Lock made the line-up at full-back for the first 18 matches of the following season and his last league appearance for the club came at Middlesbrough towards the end of April 1955.
Two months later he returned south to continue his playing career with Watford in the Third Division.
