William "Bill" Kinghorn played in Liverpool's forward-line during the last full season before the outbreak of the Second World War.

The club had an extremely settled side at the time, with no fewer than 10 players making at least 30 league appearances during that 1938-39 season.

Kinghorn was the exception as he shared the No. 11 shirt for most of the season with Harman van den Berg.
