Right-winger Arthur Berry won two Olympic gold medals with England in the 1908 and 1912 Olympics.
He and Vivian Woodward are the only players to be on both winning teams. Berry studied law at Oxford and was capped for England whilst at University in 1909.
His father was Edwin Berry, who was Liverpool's chairman from 1904-1909, coinciding with Arthur's first spell at Liverpool. Arthur signed as an amateur for Liverpool on October 4, 1907 and left in September 1909. He rejoined Liverpool in June 1912, but left after a couple of months. He only played four games in three years.
Arthur retired from football in 1913, served as Adjutant of the Lancashire Fusiliers during WWI, eventually joining the family law firm, which his father headed.
